TheoryWorks Fall 2022 Semester

October 10th - November 18th

TheoryWorks I: The Sides

$450

$390 if you register by September 30th

Thursdays October 13th - November 17th

The primary focus of TheoryWorks I: The Sides is to learn how to teach yourself your vocal part from a piece of sheet music, at the piano. The course covers time signatures, rhythm, reading pitches, and basic piano skills. The class uses a "flipped classroom" model, so each week performers familiarize themselves with the material in online modules before cementing and applying those concepts in the classroom.

In the final class, performers will be sent a copy of unique musical material to prepare for a Mock Audition for a Broadway Music Director.

TheoryWorks II: The Callback

$450

$390 if you register by September 30th

Fridays October 14th - November 18th

In TheoryWorks II: The Callback, performers build on their basic knowledge of music theory to train their ears, learn how to sing tight harmonies, play piano from chord charts, and create their own audition cuts. The class uses a "flipped classroom" model, so each week performers familiarize themselves with the material in online modules before cementing and applying those concepts in the classroom.

In the final class, performers will be asked to learn three separate vocal lines in one cut of music, and will be asked to sing in a variety of mixed groups for a Broadway Music Director.
